Stress is part of life, but it doesn’t have to control your day. Here are five simple, evidence-based strategies to help you feel calmer and more in control.
Mindful Breathing - Focus on the breathing, slow down the breath, breathe in and out through the nose. Even 2–3 minutes can signal your nervous system to relax.
Move Your Body - Walk, stretch, or do gentle exercise to release tension and boost your mood for 5min.
Connect with Others - Talk to a friend, loved one, or therapist. Sharing how you feel can lighten the load.
Set Healthy Boundaries - Learn to say “no” to protect your time, energy, and wellbeing. Listening to what your body needs.
Ground Yourself - Notice five things you can see, 4 things you can hear, and feel right now, 3-2 things you can smell and taste. This helps bring you back to the present moment.
If stress is impacting your sleep, mood, or daily life, therapy can help you manage it more effectively.
