Buteyko Breathing!

Unlock the life-changing benefits of Buteyko Breathing—a simple, natural technique designed to help you breathe better and feel better. By gently slowing your breath through nasal and diaphragmatic breathing, this method retrains your body to breathe efficiently, reducing over-breathing and restoring balance to oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.

The result? A calmer nervous system, improved oxygen delivery to your brain and body, and a clear signal to your system that you are safe—switching off the fight-or-flight response. You’ll experience greater calm, fewer panic attacks, better sleep, and relief from symptoms of anxiety and shortness of breath.

Easy to learn and simple to weave into your daily routine, Buteyko Breathing offers a powerful path to better health and wellbeing—and you can start feeling the difference in just a few days

More info about Buteyko Breathing

The Buteyko method was discovered by Ukrainian medical doctor Dr Konstantin Buteyko in the 1950s. He observed that there was a strong correlation between health and breathing patterns in his patients.

With the simple hypothesis that retraining breathing patterns could improve health, he developed a research program and discovered that by teaching his patients to breathe less (soft, slow, diaphragmatic breathing through the nose), he could dramatically reverse their symptoms. Today Buteyko Breathing is widely used around the world as a natural and holistic approach to improving respiratory health and overall well-being.

Buteyko breathing has shown to be helpful for.....
  • Anxiety and Stress: Deep, controlled breathing calms the nervous system and reduces the body's "fight or flight" response, helping alleviate anxiety.

  • Panic attacks: During a panic attack, people often experience rapid, shallow breathing (hyperventilation), which can increase feelings of fear and escalate the attack. This type of breathing disrupts the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, tingling, and heightened anxiety.

  • InsomniaMany people with insomnia tend to breathe rapidly or shallowly, which can trigger the body’s stress response and make it harder to relax and fall asleep.

  • Chronic Hyperventilation: Many people breathe too quickly or deeply without realising it, leading to a depletion of COâ‚‚, which can cause dizziness, fatigue, and other issues.

  • Asthma: Research has shown that Buteyko breathing can reduce asthma symptoms, lower reliance on medication, and improve overall quality of life.

  • Sleep Apnea and Snoring Practising nasal breathing and improving breath control can reduce symptoms of sleep apnea and help prevent snoring.

  • Exercise Performance: By optimising oxygen delivery to tissues, Buteyko breathing can enhance athletic performance and endurance.

  • Respiratory efficiency: By retraining how we breathe, Buteyko breathing helps improve lung function and oxygen utilisation.

  • Nervous system balance: Slow, mindful breathing helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

  • Cardiovascular health: Controlled breathing can lower blood pressure and heart rate, improving heart health.

  • Immune function: Reduced stress and improved oxygenation can support the immune system and promote overall well-being.

  • Reduced anxiety and stress

  • 70% Reduction in Asthma Symptoms

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Improved cardiovascular health

  • Improved exercise tolerance

  • Improved oxygen delivery & cognitive function
